Senator Bayo Salami, who represented Osun Central in the Senate between 1999 and 2003 has passed away, in the United States of America on Thursday.
A former Senator and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the State of Osun, Senator Adebayo Salami is dead.
Circumstances leading to death was however unknown as at the time of filing this report. The unconfirmed report, however, revealed that his death might not be unconnected with COVID-19 complications.
Salami represented Osun Central Senatorial District in Nigerian Senate on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) platform at the inception of the fourth republic in 1999.
According to The Punch, his legislative aide while in the Senate, Smallette Alamu, declined to confirm the development when contacted, but a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in the state, who preferred not to be named, confirmed the passage of the late parliamentarian.
